apologies if this is not the right subforum for this! I just started using BOINC today and wanted to use my Science United account. My password on there was very complex, with lots of unusual characters, but it was allowed on their service so I stuck with it. I loaded up BOINC and entered my account info, and it communicated with the site briefly and said that it was successful, however upon clicking finish I noticed that nothing was added or changed. It took me a lot of trial and error to realize that my password was the issue when trying to connect through the Manager, because it didn't throw an error at me to let me know the password I was using was a problem for it. Once i removed a lot of unusual characters from my Science United account and retried it worked flawlessly. The manager should alert users if their password is an issue, otherwise people may just give up after a while of nothing happening, I almost did! |
