Mega Grumble.
Please forgive me guys as it will turn political :-(

After a happy couple of hours completing some spreadsheets ( annual summary of electic usage & other more personal spreadsheets).
My partner logged into her e-mail after I finished with the computer. Redacted comments from both of us as unable to post those :-) but you can guess correctly what they were.

After her rundanancy money run out, I topped up her bank account with some funds, 1: to give her some independance & 2: to pay for shopping as my mobility issues prevent me from shopping.

After a while this became untenable as my pension was not up to covering everything so she applied for unemployment allowance.
Well, that has been okay until now. She doesn't like the system & has done her best in her attempts to rejoin the workforce.
Unfortunately I think her age is against her (55).

She has just been sanctioned for failing to apply for a job her work coach provided. (In fact her work coach provided 2 & both were applied for.
The sanction was for failing to apply for one of them. Shortly after closing down her e-mail, her mobile rang ( the DWP's Restart).
It was for 2 jobs in the Construction Industry - FFS!
Being on an excellent mobile the party on the other could hear my (redacted) comments & hung up.

A little birdie whispered in my ear. As I am on State Pension I could be entitled to Attendance Allowance as ( have COPD as well as other issues).
From what I have seen so far, it looks like I will be awarded it & to **** up the system as that same little birdie says that once in receipt of Attendance Allowance, my partner can apply for Carers Allowance.

To be brutally truthful, I am going to get her to apply because with what is happening today in the system & governments allowing it to occur, why not we are entitled to it after working for it.
Edited for spelling errors.

Just finished a lovely phone call (legal advice)
For myself, no longer need to end up frustrated over my partner's sanction.
I could not apply for Pension Credit last year as my partner was not of pensionable age so was advised to apply for Universal Credit which was approved within a very reasonable time.

As the sanction only applies to her Jobseekers Allowance & NOT my Universal Credit portion, just sent a statement on UC journal that they HAVE to increase my UC to cover for the loss of income (as advised).
I think these box tickers just shot themselves in the foot!

BTW, UC is paid per calendar month.
My partner was only getting £110.48 per month so from 19/9/25 she will get no money for 91 days. The sanction is £10.30 per day.

Again to be truthfuI don't give a **** if I get the Attendance Allowance it will be anywhere from £296 to £410 every 4 weeks & will be paid the same day as my pension.
Lovely Jubbley.

Summer is definitely over now. Only 2 C outside at the moment here. I'd better start preparing my skies :.)

24° to 27° for our minimums, 33° to 38.5° for our maximums (so far) this month.
Won't be long before we start getting a few 28° to 30° minimums; not at all pleasant (even more so when the RH hits 80%+).

Givenergy, makers of my AC coupled inverter and batteries rely on AWS servers. Had to switch to Home Assistant VM to control my system yesterday.

Some Limo jerk got his instant justice. Taking a freeway transition, immediately behind me a marked highway patrol, limo jerk tries to force his way immediately in front of me through the gore point. Me decides to let him get his ticket. I let him in. Before he can make it fully over into the lane the party lights are on. SWEET!

Gore point, not a term I had come across before, though having looked it up, I have seen a car pulled over for driving on one her in UK.

On to my grumble.
Discord keeps running in the background on closing the window. On XFCE at least, there is no icon I can right click on to close it down. I have yet to determine whether this is the fault of Discord, XFCE or both. Next time, I shall use the xkill command to close it and see if that stops it.

Discord keeps running in the background...

That's the same reason I don't use the app on my Android phone or a desktop PC.

Same with Facebook and many other apps on Android. On Android even if you close an app it's still running in the background consuming battery and Internet bandwidth. You have to terminate the background app to really stop them.

I use my web browser to go to the websites instead.

lol. I expect we'll have general elections again next year. This time I chose exactly the same guy I did last time, and that I'll pick the next time. 😂

There were 25 fractions to choose from, you should see our ballot. It was difficult folding it back up after colouring the dot I wanted. 😓

We're f-ed, but at least not as bad as when that other party (GroenLinks/PvdA) would've won. Its frontman just stepped down.

"BREAKING: Exit polls suggest that the immigrant-critical and pro-Israel party PVV is no longer the largest party in the Netherlands and has lost a significant share of votes compared to last time. The big winners of the election appear to be woke and progressive parties."

I guess the next thing we're doing is invite all of Gaza here.

After a lovely 10 days of glory, had a really bad grumble today that p'ed me off, so...

...here's a question for all, genuine answers preferred.
You have my landline number & my mobile number.
After 6 rings calling my mobile, it goes to voicemail.
As the call is important, what do you do next?

I take an unscientific guess that they didn't leave a voicemail but called the other number.

Sadly, it's happened to me too. & grumble words I can't post here &
