My Mac Mini 3,1 running OS X 10.6.8 rejects the Boinc 7.16.6 installer telling that this new version requires at least OS X 10.7. I did try to upgrade as soon as the new Boinc manager has been released, unsuccessfully, and was expecting a new compatible version for 3 weeks. Up to yesterday I was still running 7.14.4. Today I had to reinstall 10.6.8. The new "clean" system still rejects the 7.16.6 installer, but the still present 7.14.4 version is no more functional. And I cannot either reinstall Boinc 7.14.4 because "it might also require a more recent system". If the 7.10.2 installer is allowed to execute, the installed application does not run. Accordingly, my mini no more contributes to any grid computing project. What a pity ! Thanks for your help |

I have a pair of Win 7 32bit systems that are running on 7.16.3. Which I had thought was going to be the last Win 32 version ? But when I look at the All Versions download list it shows 7.14.2 as the current recommended version. https://boinc.berkeley.edu/download_all.php Did I miss something and was 7.16.3 for 32 bit pulled back ? Or is the Download page missing an update ? Thanks Bill F |

Did I miss something and was 7.16.3 for 32 bit pulled back ? Or is the Download page missing an update ?7.16.3 was a beta version, it never made it to a recommended version for any of the platforms due to bugs. So when the decision was made to not support 32bit Windows any further, it was easier to keep the working 7.14.2 as the default version for 32bit Windows and go with 7.16.5 for 64bit Windows. |

I've just tried to get this to work, on Linux Mint 19, but without success. Install created several files. run_manager doesn't APPEAR to do anything. run_client creates a few more files, including client_state.xml, and running run_manager after this still APPEARS to do nothing. Is this permissions, or isn't there any gui created as per Ubuntu? Or maybe it's the OS. |
