BOINC 7.14.2 and 7.16.3, Win 10 and Ubuntu 18.04 Is there a way to select which project server the "web-based preferences" in the BOINC manger come from? I have 3 PCs running projects in their spare time, two are SETI@home exclusively and one is SETI@home and Einstein@home shared. One of the SETI-only systems has the Einstein server set, while the other SETI-only has the SETI server set. The shared system also has the Einstein server set. The selection of the server seems to have been determined by what project was the first to ever be used in an instance of the BOINC manager. Right now, I'm using "local preferences", but I'd like to be able to use the server's configs. |

As long as all computers use the same location/venue (default, home, work, school), it's just a matter of updating one project's web preferences and allowing all computers to contact that project, asking for the web preferences. Computers that use the local preferences will get the web preferences in (as they always do with every scheduler contact), it just won't show in BOINC Manager. Computing web preferences are global. This means that for that location/venue you only have to set them at one project and via contact with BOINC will these preferences spread over all projects allowed to be contacted, for that location/venue. |

Thanks. That simplifies things a lot. I used the 4 location/venue settings when I was trying to figure out the best settings to use on each of the 3 PCs and I went to the "wrong" Web site a few times. |
