Yesterday evening I had a problem with a machine that was locked up (not due to BOINC) and it required a "hard rest" After this when rebooting, BOINC has forgotten all stats and started fresh from yesterday. I had "save stats days" in cc_config set to 365. It did not lose any work or error any tasks. Is there a way to prevent this happening if BOINC is not cleanly shutdown. I am running 7.8.3 |

Backup, backup, backup. That's the only way to do this, daily backups. |

Where does BOINC keep its stats? |

Where does BOINC keep its stats?Data folder, separate file 'statistics_url.xml' for each project url. Only one file is kept for each project, unlike client_state.xml which is protected by a file, _prev, _next rotation. A crash while the file is open for writing is likely to lead to corruption and data loss, so daily backups just after midnight are the only solution. |

OK thanks, I don't often lift the lid on the inner workings of BOINC. I see the structure and this machine indeed has it first entry yesterday, whereas my other cruncher goes back to Jan 2017 I suppose in theory it might be possible to recreate the approximate data seeing as this machine has only been crunching for 3 weeks. |
