Hi My Athlon machine has developed a seemingly irreparable network controller problem so I can't upload my completed work (or download new work). Unless someone knows an alternate way of connecting to the internet, can I temporarily rename the data folder on my A8 machine and copy the Athlon data folder over there to upload the work? The Athlon box is running Windows 8.1 x64 and the A8 is running Windows 7 x64. They are both running BOINC 7.4.42. Thanks |

Shouldn't be a problem, the only thing it may balk about is that the Athlon is 32bit and the A8 64bit. But even then that shouldn't be a total problem. Make sure to set BOINC network to disabled, and if need be disable the internet on the A8. Just to make sure not all that work is reported as error if things go wrong. But yes, you can do it the way you want to, rename directory on the A8, copy over the Athlon's directory into the place of your normal data directory. |

Uhm, the Athlon is 32bit, isn't it? I haven't even checked that. ;-) |

Well the sneakernet connection seems to be working quite well and even downloading fresh work to copy back onto the Athlon machine :) |
