I recently got a spare computer to setup as a server on my network. One I'd simply vnc/ftp into. More of a storage server per-say and Cpu/Gpu for boinc to run on as well. This will be computer two. Now I installed a Geforce nvidia GTS 450 Card into my computer which according to geforce it is cuda-capable . Link: http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gts-450 I have the latest drivers from there site which is 350.12 i believe. For some reason BOINC isnt detecting it and it says no usable GPUs found. My card is not the newest but it still has 192 cudas and 1GB of memory. it also has the nvidia cuda core drivers installed. Boinc says any listed in there are supported and I'm just wondering why boinc is not detecting it? any suggestions? |

Check that you didn't install BOINC as a service, you can recognize that when in the start-up messages it says it's running as a daemon. When BOINC is installed in that way it cannot read the drivers, as Microsoft separated those from the user profiles. The only way to get around that is to uninstall and reinstall BOINC, this time as not a service (third screen in installer click Advanced and take the check mark off of either "Service Install" or "Protected application execution", depending on BOINC version. |
